Samsung’s Bixby can’t understand Aussie Accent

Who’s Bixby?

Bixby is Samsung’s answer to Google Voice Assistant and Apple’s Siri. It is an artificial intelligence system that’s designed to make device interaction easier. It will make its debut on the Samsung Galaxy S8 devices, but is designed to work across a range of Samsung products.

The smartphone is not ready to understand Aussie accents, and may arrive missing one of its biggest new features

The voice assistant installed in the phone, could be missing, as it is still being programmed to understand our Australian accent commands. Named as Bixby, Samsung’s flagship voice assistant is not ready yet to understand true blue Aussie commands. Samsung Electronics mobile vice-president Richard Fink confirmed the company was still working to program the Siri rival, Bixby, to understand Australians’ ocker way of speaking.

However, if Samsung does come out with the voice assistant installed, Australians may need to fake an American accent
